LANSING – Emergent Biosolutions will present a $50,000 donation to the Lansing Promise scholarship program this afternoon at Lansing Community College.

Students who live within the boundaries of the Lansing School District and graduate from one of the district’s high schools or Lansing Catholic are eligible for two years of tuition assistance courtesy of the Lansing Promise.

The program covers any remaining tuition costs for a student to receive 60 credits at LCC after federal financial aid is awarded. Students can also use the amount award by the Lansing Promise toward tuition at Michigan State University.

Nearly 500 students have received support from the Lansing Promise since it began in 2012.

Emergent Biosolutions, a Maryland-based biopharmaceutical company, employs about more than 400 staff at its facility on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Lansing.
