Investing in your future. Building your dreams. That’s our promise.

The Lansing Promise is an award offered to graduates of public, private, home and charter schools, along with GED programs within the Lansing School District boundaries. It provides the financial assistance necessary to obtain an associate’s degree, certificate or its equivalent at one of our post-secondary partner institutions: Lansing Community College, Michigan State University, The University of Olivet, Davenport University and Douglas J Aveda Institute. Financial assistance options for skilled trades programs are rolling out in 2024!

As of fall 2023, graduating seniors do not need to complete an application.

Seniors graduating in 2024 do not have to apply for the Lansing Promise scholarship. Starting fall 2023, seniors and their families will be notified of their scholarship eligibility by October 15. Seniors should look for an award email from Lansing Promise Scholarship Director Teri Bernero sent to their school email address. Parents will also get a letter in the mail with eligibility information by mid-October.

Only homeschooled, GED graduates and students who graduated in 2023 or earlier need to complete an online application.
